The intent is to give ideas of ways children and families could prepare ahead of time for what you will do in class. Remembering that the parents are the best mentors for their children; our inspirements give opportunities for each family to prepare in similar ways, for the purpose of unity, focused instruction in the class setting, and class time not being the first time they hear or see some of these things. The hope is to reinforce and build upon what their family has done. Youth are expected to have done at least the Core Inspirements. Inspirement are a suggestion for how to prepare -an invitation and opportunity. Coming prepared provides the best learning environment. It facilitates increased learning and reduces getting off track.
There are not specific requirement for how to write your inspirements, that being said, I think this is a basic outline that could work for any inspirement: 1) give suggestions of something to read, listen to, and/or watch; 2) answer a question 3) make or bring something to share or teach--i.e., a show and tell of sorts 4) an invitation to apply this knowledge. If you were to do levels like core, journeyman, master this same model can work but with more depth at each level. I personally feel the middle age group is about the core beliefs and foundations. When they are older I think they are ready for more of journeyman and master levels -to individually search, ponder, pray, apply, reevaluate, and return and report. .
